Ashley and Prashast’s wedding week was a WHIRLWIND. The two live together in Philadelphia, but chose Austin as their wedding destination for the mild spring weather and natural beauty. With different religious backgrounds, the pair opted to have two wedding ceremonies, split across two days and multiple venues.

On the morning of the Syriac Christian ceremony and reception, Ashley and Prashast got ready in separate suites at the Four Seasons Hotel before meeting each other for their first look. After shedding a few happy tears, the couple and their families headed north for the orthodox ceremony. As Ashley and Prashast exited the church for the first time as husband and wife, guests greeted them with cheers, garlands, and a traditional chant. The couple then hopped in their getaway car and headed back to the Four Seasons for the reception on the great lawn. Tables of pale purple hues were embellished with tasteful tropical florals, while a stunning lantern display twinkled in the trees overhead. Guests sipped drinks as they mingled for cocktail hour and then took their seats for a short blessing ceremony, four-course dinner, and toasts. Afterwards, everyone headed inside for a Havana Nights themed dance party, complete with a neon “Besame Mucho” sign.

The Hindu ceremony was held the day prior at the Vineyards of Chappel Lodge in south Austin, festooned with bold florals in shades of pink, blue, and green. Ashley stunned in a champagne and pink lehenga that brought Prashast to tears during their impromptu first look. After the ceremony, guests gathered for a traditional South Indian lunch on the tented patio, while Ashley and Prashast frolicked in the field of wildflowers for a short mid-day portrait session.

Every day of the wedding week called for thunderstorms, and every day Ashley and Prashast (along with their planner) opted to take the risk and stick with Plan A: Outdoors. It never once rained on us. I am calling it more than just good luck — these two deserved every minute of sunshine.
